PUBLIC NOTICE ON CAP PRICES FOR PETROLEUM PRODUCTS EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, 5TH MARCH 2025
Tanzanian motorists will feel the pinch at the pump as fuel prices have increased effective March 5th, 2025.
The
Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) has announced
new price caps for March 2025, reflecting a slight upward adjustment
compared to the previous month.
The FOB prices and premiums are quoted in major foreign currencies including the United States Dollar (USD). The applicable exchange rate for March 2025 prices increased by 14.05%.
Retailers are required to sell petroleum products at prices indicated in Table 3, while Wholesalers are required to sell petroleum products at prices indicated in Table 2. Legal action will be taken against any retailer or wholesaler who fails to comply
with these instructions.
In March 2025, the premiums decreased by an average of 0.51% for petrol, 1.91% for kerosene and increased by an average of 24.42% for diesel at Dar es Salaam Port; Tanga Port increased by 2.60% for both petrol and diesel; and there are no changes at Mtwara Port .

In March 2025, retail and wholesale prices of petroleum products in Dar es Salaam, Tanga, and Mtwara are depicted in Tables 1 and 2, respectively
