Dar es Salaam Tumaini University (DarTU), formerly known as TUDARCo, is undergoing strategic re-engineering and rebranding to keep up with developments in the digital economy and the 4th Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). As part of this transformation, DarTU seeks to hire qualified, dynamic, and proactive candidates for the positions of Lecturers or Assistant Lecturers in Computer Science and/or Cybersecurity, and Law and Justice.

In line with its ambitious transformation, DarTU is strengthening its School of Law and Justice (SoLJu) to nurture the next generation of legal professionals and equip them to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

It is in this context that DarTU invites talented, vibrant, and morally sound individuals to apply for Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer positions in Computer Science and/or Cybersecurity, and Law and Justice.


1. Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer Positions in the School of Law and Justice (SoLJu)

1.1 Lecturers in Law (2 positions)

The applicant must hold a PhD in Law, an LLM degree with a minimum GPA of 4.0, and an LLB degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 from institutions recognized by TCU. The applicants must be able to teach law courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Prior experience in university teaching and being an advocate of the High Court will be an added advantage. Applicants with the following specializations will be given preference:

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
  • Procedural Aspects of ADR
  • Taxation
  • Land Law
  • Labour Law
  • Oil and Gas Law
  • Law of Trusts and Succession
  • Civil Procedure
  • Administrative Law
  • Constitutional Law

1.2 Assistant Lecturers (2 positions)

The applicant must hold an LLM degree with a minimum GPA of 4.0 and an LLB degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 from institutions recognized by TCU. The applicants must be able to teach law courses at undergraduate and non-degree levels. Prior experience in university teaching and being an advocate of the High Court will be an added advantage. Applicants with the following specializations will be given preference:

  • Tax Law
  • Land Law
  • Labour Law
  • Oil and Gas Law
  • Law of Trusts and Succession
  • Civil Procedure
  • Administrative Law
  • Constitutional Law
  • International Trade and Investment Law
  • Law of Evidence
  • Criminal Law and Procedure
  • Legal Writing and Drafting

2. Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in Computer Science and/or Cybersecurity in the School of Digital Technologies and Transformation Studies (SoDTTS)

2.1 Lecturers (2 positions)

Applicants must possess a PhD, Master of Science degree, and Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and/or Cybersecurity (or its equivalent) from accredited institutions recognized by TCU. A GPA of at least 4.0 out of 5 or B+ in the Master’s degree and a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 5 in the Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is required. Professional certifications in Cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+) or equivalent are a plus. Applicants should have a strong understanding of key areas in Cybersecurity such as:

  • Network Security
  • Encryption
  • Ethical Hacking
  • Penetration Testing
  • Secure Software Development Applicants should also be familiar with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, IDS). Expertise in teaching Computer Science and/or Cybersecurity and experience in online or blended learning environments is required. Evidence of active participation in relevant research and consultancy is also required.

2.2 Assistant Lecturers (2 positions)

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a closely related field from a TCU-recognized institution. A minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 in the Master’s degree and at least 3.5 out of 5.0 in the Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) is required. Industry-recognized certifications in Cybersecurity, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent qualifications, are an added advantage. Expertise in areas such as:

  • Cloud Security
  • Digital Forensics
  • IoT Security
  • AI applications in Cybersecurity Applicants should also be familiar with emerging technologies in Cybersecurity, including blockchain security, threat intelligence platforms, and machine learning for threat detection. Experience with modern teaching tools, including online learning platforms and virtual labs for Cybersecurity training, is essential. Evidence of contributing to research, innovations, or scholarly activities in Computer Science or Cybersecurity is required.

3. Remuneration

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to successful candidates, commensurate with their qualifications and experience.

4. Mode of Application

  • Master’s degree
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Form IV and Form VI National Examination certificates
  • Birth certificate

Applicants should also provide three reputable referees with reliable contacts.
Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be certified by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA), and certificates from foreign universities should be certified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
Submission of forged certificates or other false information will lead to legal action.
