Invitation For Tenders To Supply Materials For
Rehabilitation And Extension Of Water Supply Scheme.
INTRODUCTION
WWF Tanzania Country Office is a Non- Government Organization dealing with environmental protection in Tanzania since 1990 and it has supported the Government of Tanzania in implementing various projects on Marine, Forest, Fresh Water, Energy and Wildlife. WWF global mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by:
- conserving the world’s biological diversity.
- ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable and
- promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.
(WWF-US) received funding under Cooperative Agreement #72062122CA00004 from USAID/Tanzania to implement the project titled: USAID-Mara River Catchment (MRC) in Tanzania, for three years which started in April 2022 and expect to phase out in April 2025. The project is working closely with communities across six districts (i.e. Serengeti, Butiama, Tarime, Rorya, Musoma and Bunda) in Mara Region, Tanzania. The is projected to benefit 20,000 people through water resource conservation, 6,000 people through improved water supply schemes and 1230 people enabled to practice more sustainable livelihoods. The project targeting to address the water security and climate resilience challenges faced by the growing communities in the MRC in Tanzania. The project will tackle local water resource degradation, catchment management challenges in Tanzania and transboundary water management coordination with WWF-Kenya. Lesson learnt from this project shall also be shared to promote catchment conservation approaches across the country. USAID-Mara River Catchment Project has three intermediate results.
WWF Tanzania intends to invite contactor/supplier who will supply materials to rehabilitate and extend water supply scheme from the existing infrastructures for purpose of saving community with clean water while water at the same time water scheme is well conserved, three water supply scheme are located two in Serengeti and one in Tarime details and location of each water supply scheme are indicated in the Bill of Quantity (BoO)- These initiatives align with the project’s second intermediate results: Community water supply is improved and sustained through water resources conservation best practices in the MRC in Tanzania. Successful implementation of this activity will contribute to achieving the project’s target indicator: Standard Indicator- [Standard Indicator HL.8.1-1] Number of people gaining access to basic drinking water services as a result of USG assistance.
Bill of Quantity (BoQ) has been prepared to guide the Contractor/ Supplier on the requirement for this assignment.
