CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO PROVIDE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FROM LEGALLY REGISTERED FIRMS IN TANZANIA
PROJECT NAME: MATERNITY AFRICA: MATERNAL HEALTH CENTRE
LOCATION: CHIBWE-MANCHALI ‘A,’ CHAMWINO DISTRICT
DODOMA REGION, UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA
DESCRIPTION: CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW 40-BED HEALTH CENTRE
WITH OUTPATIENT CLINIC AND RELATED EXTERNAL WORKS
Maternity Africa is proposing to undertake construction of a new 40-bed maternal health centre on its property in Chamwino District, Dodoma Region, Tanzania. Works shall include construction of patient wards, surgical and delivery theatres, outpatient clinic, administrative and support facilities, plus related external works. Total built-up area is expected to be no less than 2,100 square meters, AQRB Medical Type Building Class 4.
Maternity Africa is currently soliciting information from architectural firms registered with the Tanzania Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board. A qualified firm shall be appointed upon completion of this exercise, and a construction contract shall be awarded upon execution of a subsequent tender exercise. Architectural firms wishing to be considered for appointment are requested to submit the following:
- Company Description, including copies of AQRB and VAT Registration Certificates.
- Curricula Vitae for a proposed Lead Architect, showing education and professional experience.
- Specific List of All Medical Projects undertaken by the firm, including size, construction contract value, completion date, other consultants and client representatives, with current contact information for all. Photographs of completed medical projects would be beneficial.
- As a percentage of total construction cost or otherwise, indicate the percentage the firm would charge for all architectural services, from inception to completion, including construction supervision.
- Other consultants shall be appointed as required, such as quantity surveyor, M.E.P. and structural/civil engineers. If the firm wishes to serve as consultant team leader and wants to nominate specific consultants, provide all information in Item Nos. 1 through 4 above for each consulting firm, quoting each fee separately, as a percentage of total construction cost or otherwise.
- Statement regarding length of time in weeks required by the firm and other consultants to complete services from inception to production information and bills of quantities (ready for tender).
Interested firms should submit documentation listed above in bound hard copy format, signed and stamped by proposed Lead Architect, to the following physical address no later than 16:00 hours (4:00 pm) on Friday 7 June 2024:

Interested firms should also submit exactly the same documentation in PDF soft copy format to the following email address immediately after (but not before) hard copy submission, and within twenty-four hours: info@maternityafrica.org
Only architectural firms registered with the Tanzania Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board shall be considered. Failure to provide any of the above-prescribed information may result in disqualification. The client reserves the right to select a qualified firm at its discretion, and will notify parties of results in writing. No contact may be made with client representatives prior to written notification of results.
