Job Details: 

Weighbridge Operator ( Ref: JHCL/WO/03/13)  

Duty Station: Mine Site- Mbinga, Ruvuma

Reports to: Logistics and Operations Supervisor

Job Summary:  

A Weighbridge operator is responsible for accurately weighing vehicles, goods, or  materials arriving or leaving at the mine site/sales point. The role holder operates a  specialized equipment, such as weighbridges or scales, to measure the weight of vehicles  and their loads. The operator ensures compliance with weight regulations, maintains  detailed records, and communicates effectively with drivers and the immediate  supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:  

  1. Weighing Operations. 
  • Operate and calibrate weighbridge equipment to accurately measure the  weight of vehicles, goods, or materials.
  • Verify the identity of the vehicle, driver, and load before weighing. • Issue transactions documents such as invoices and delivery notes before  proceeding for loading.
  • Ensure that vehicles are properly positioned on the weighbridge to obtain  accurate measurements.
  1. Compliance and Regulations. 
  • Enforce weight regulations and guidelines, ensuring that vehicles comply with  legal weight limits.
  • Inform drivers of any violations and provide guidance on necessary corrective  actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and national weight regulations.
  1. Record Keeping. 
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all weighing activities, including  vehicle information, weights, and time of weighing.
  • Generate weight tickets or receipts for drivers and customers.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports summarizing weighing activities and  discrepancies.
  1. Communication. 
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions and  assistance during the weighing process.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and departments to ensure smooth  operations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or discrepancies to the relevant authorities  or supervisors.

  • Possession of Ordinary Secondary Education Certificate (CSEE)

  1. Technical Competencies. 
  • Familiarity with relevant weight regulations and compliance standards. • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to accurately calculate weights. • Attention to detail and precision in recording information.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods(when need be) and perform tasks  related to the operation of weighbridge equipment.

Job Summary:  

Pit Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day mining operations The role  holder coordinates the activities of mining staff, equipment operators, and contractors,  ensuring safe and efficient extraction of minerals. Pit Supervisor play a crucial role in  maintaining productivity, safety standards, and adherence to environmental regulations  within the mining site.

Key Responsibilities:  

  1. 1. Operational Management  
  • Supervise mining operations at the assigned area , including drilling,  blasting, excavation, and transportation of ore, ensuring compliance with  production targets and schedules.
  • Coordinate the deployment of equipment, manpower, and resources to  maximize efficiency and productivity.
  1. 2. Safety and Compliance  
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to create a secure working  environment.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, mining laws, and  company policies, promoting responsible mining practices.
  1. Production Monitoring  
  • Monitor daily production activities, assess performance against production  plans, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyse production data, track equipment utilization, and implement  strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.

Job Summary:  

An Assistant Geologist is responsible for supporting mine geologists and engineers in  geological surveys, exploration activities, and data analysis. This position involves  assisting in fieldwork, collecting samples, conducting laboratory analyses, and  maintaining geological databases. The Assistant Geologist is an integral part of the team responsible for identifying potential mining sites, evaluating mineral resources, and  ensuring the accuracy of geological data used in mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:  

  1. Fieldwork Assistance. 
  • Assist minegeologists in conducting geological surveys and field mapping to  identify potential mineral deposits.
  • Collect rock, soil, and core samples from designated locations using appropriate  sampling techniques.
  1. Sample Preparation and Analysis 
  • Prepare samples for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper labelling and  documentation of sample origin.
  • Assist in conducting basic geological analyses and tests, such as mineral  identification, grain size analysis, and density measurements.
  1. Data Entry and Documentation 
  • Enter geological data into databases accurately and maintain organized records  of samples, survey findings, and analysis results.
