On January 07, 2024 , the Tanzania Examinations Council (NECTA) announced & released the results of the Form two national Assessment (FTNA) examination also known as Matokeo ya Kidato Cha Pili 2023.
The Announcement was made during a Press Conference in the city of Dar es Salaam by the NECTA Executive Secretary Dr. Said Mohamed from 1.30 Pm Local Time.

A total of 592,741 students out of 694,769 who sat for the exams, which is equal to 85.31% have passed where they have obtained grades I, II, III and IV.
In 2022, the number of students who passed was 539,645 equal to 85.18%, so there has been an increase in success by 0.13% along with an increase in the number of 53,096 students equal to 9.84% of students who had the opportunity to continue with Form Three compared to the year 2022.
Among the students who succeeded in continuing to Form Three, there are 314,949 girls, equal to 83.66%, and 277,792 boys, equal to 87.28%, the statistics show that boys have performed much better compared to girls.
28 Form Two students were caught cheating, this led to their results being nullified while 14 Form Two scripts were cancelled for containing insults written on them.
Subjects with below-average performance include physics, chemistry, agriculture, and basic mathematics.
