This comes after NECTA released the official Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) 2023 examination results that were conducted by the same students.

The list of candidates chosen for the first round of selection is for various government secondary schools. Only pupils who passed the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), which was announced by NECTA, are eligible. Students with passing grade averages ranging from A to C are chosen.

Selection Criteria Used For Majina ya waliochaguliwa kidato Cha kwanza Tanzania  | Form One Selection 2024

 Students must fulfill the requirements stipulated by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) and (TAMISEMI) in order to be eligible for Form One Selection 2024. They must have finished their elementary schooling and received a minimum score of 300 on the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) elementary School Leaving Examination, which is one of the key prerequisites. All pupils who want to attend ordinary level secondary schools owned by the government must fulfill this standard criteria.

Reaching the minimal score is not, however, the only need for eligibility. Students also need to fulfill other requirements. The individual must meet several requirements in order to be admitted to secondary school, one of which is age.

In addition, the students must have the appropriate paperwork, such as birth certificates, and school leaving certificates. These records are required for verification and to provide an impartial and open selection procedure.
 
Note: the Academic Terms for Both Secondary and Primary Schools in Tanzania , will commence on the 8th of January 2024.

TAMISEMI Minister, Mohamed Mchengerwa has said that a total of 1,092,984 students who passed the 2023 Primary School Leaving Examinations have been selected to join the form  one in various Secondary Schools in the country in 2024, which is an increase of more than Sixteen thousand students equal to a 1.57% increase compared to the previous period.

Minister Mchengerwa said this on Sunday December 17, 2023 in Mwanza where he said that among them there are 507,933 girls and 585,051 boys and that the selection of students has taken into account various factors for success criteria according to the school group while he said 5,606 students have been assigned to the best boarding schools available 48 in this country and 3,587 are with special needs.

He has said that due to the presence of good and sufficient infrastructure in Secondary Schools in the country, all successful students have been selected to join the first form in one phase and that the students will start their studies for the semester starting January 08, 2024 without delay and the Heads of Regions and Districts will supervise that .
