The research in Medicinal Chemistry runs with the collaboration of Cardiff University and the Rega Institute for Medical Research.
The two institutions are located in Leuven and Belgium respectively. According to information, every year 699 illnesses and 219,000 deaths are due to the winter vomiting bug. The basic aim of this research is to identify and develop novel antivirus infections used during outbreaks.
So the EPSRC PhD scholarship aims to find the vaccines or how to control the infection. In this Fully Funded scholarship, computer-aided drug design techniques and synthetic organic Chemistry are used to research the treatment of novel antivirals.
