Yanga's Unbeaten Record Streak Extinguished by Ihefu SC, Dar es Salaam Young Africans unbeaten streak of 49 games was officially ended by the former bottom of the league dwellers Ihefu SC from the Southern Zone Region of Mbeya , Tanzania.
Ihefu hosted the Jangwani boys at their Home Ground - The Highlands Estate in the Southern Tanzania Highlands Zone and Yanga were tormented and made to Suffer as they were put to the sword by the Mbeyan's to the extent that they had no choice but to let the record streak go up in flames and then got extinguished without much Hope of a comeback.
Ihefu took the first blow in the first half through Yanga's Yanick Bangala's goal in the 8th minute.
However Ihefu's Nivere Tigere equalized in the 38th minute and made them go to the half time break, with the scores being level at 1 - 1 for both teams.
In the second half, Ihefu and Yanga were in a tighly contested affair , however the match and the winning goal was scored by Lenny Kisu in the 61st minute while inside the 18 year area.
Kisu used the mistakes of Yanga's defenders who did not pay adequate attention to the corner kick taken by Tigere and broke the team's dream of extending the streak to 50 matches without a defeat.
It should be noted that Yanga has set a record of playing 49 league matches without being defeated and the last team to do so before Ihefu SC was Azam FC.
Despite Yanga's loss, they remain in the first place with 32 points in the group while Ihefu is in 13th place, rising from 16th place after reaching 11 points in the league standings.
