Ewura Announces New fuel Prices | Bei Mpya za Mafuta October 2022.Information released by the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Authority (Ewura) on October 2, 2022 , shows that fuel prices have dropped Commencing October 5, 2022 so gasoline in Dar es Salaam will be sold at Sh2,886 per liter, diesel at Sh3,083 and kerosene at Sh3,275 per liter.

According to the statement, the drop in oil prices is due to the drop in the prices of these products in the world market for August 2022, which have been used in the calculation of local oil prices in the month of October 2022 have decreased by 7.4, 3.9 and 1.9 percent for oil of petrol, diesel and kerosene, respectively, compared to those prices for the month of July 2022.

"However, compared to the import costs used in the calculation of September 2022 prices, oil import costs have increased by between 50 and 163 percent depending on the port and product in question compared to the import costs used in the September 2022 price calculation, and thus affecting the trend of fuel prices in this country.

"In addition to that, following the Government's commitment to continue reducing the effects of the increase in oil prices in this country for the people and the economy in general, the Government has provided a subsidy of Sh59.58 billion for the October 2022 oil prices," explained part of the statement signed by the Director of Ewura Modestus Lumato.
